NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL: “Consecuences.” This ambitious project is a vertical cut

through Latin America’s recent history. An attempt to understand its recent past, the present, and what lies ahead.  Hosted by Alvaro Vargas Llosa, renowned journalist and writer, and director of the Center on Global Prosperity, in Washington D.C. A four part, one-hour series, this documentary project was shot in  13 different countries over the course of five months.

ARTE  FRANCE: “Mr. President.” One-hour documentary showing how Hollywood portrays the president of the United States, and how some presidents seem to try to emulate what could look good on screen.

DISCOVERY CHANNEL:  “One night on Earth.” One-hour program about street racing around the world. The story follows racers who risk their lives, as well as those of others, on city streets -- speeding to show off.    Varicam HD

ARTE CHANNEL (France). “Pentagon-Hollywood”, produced by  the prestigious “Les Film D´Ici” production house in Paris. The  2-hour long documentary portrays the intimate relation between these powerful entities. Betacam SX.

TV-3, France. Three different documentaries shot for this TV network:

  • Mémoires de la Terre de Feu”, shot in the Chilean and Argentinean Patagonia.
    This show was part of a series of documentaries that depict people who live on both sides of the frontier of their countries. Betacam SX PAL .

  • “Orphelins du Condor”, a documentary showing the fate of children who were kidnapped during South American dictatorships. Betacam SX PAL.

TV PROGRAM “C’ Past Socier” (France), Program for young viewers, on technological advances around the world. Betacam SX. 

Court TV: "Psychic Detectives": Camerawork for this series that has been on the air for five consecutive years. McCormick case, shot entirely in the state of Colorado, U.S.A. XDCam.

DOCUMENTARY “The Accidental Diva”, portrait of  the famous soprano Veronica Villaroel and the Washington Opera while on their tour in Japan and the U.S. Betacam SP and DVCAM .
Winner: Gold Camera Award, US International Film and Video Festival, 2004

CNN+ (Spain): Special report on illegal immigration and the human tragedy behind this problem. Shot in Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. Betacam SP.

NATIONAL EYE INSTITUTE. D.P. for the PSA “Like Her Eyes,”focusing on eye health risks and prevention. HDCam 

KRAFT FOODS. “Coffee in Perú.”. One -hour documentary  for the Kraft Corporation. Shot entirely in the mountains of Perú, depicting the process of coffee harvesting. HDCam.                                                     
                                    
INTERAMERICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK. “Disasters,” documentary on preventing natural disasters in Central America. Shot in four different countries in the region.  Betacam SP.                                                                                                                              

WORLD BANK: Global Links, part of a television series shot in Uganda, Africa. Our team visited remote villages in southern Uganda for eight weeks, in order to portray the revolutionary educational program being put into place by Ugandan President Mouseveni´s government, with the support of the World Bank and USAID.

DOCUMENTARY SERIES “AL SUR DEL MUNDO”
   (CHANNEL 13- CHILE):
 Freelance cameraman for this prestigious series that focused on cultural and natural aspects of Chile and many other Latin American countries. The series run for almost 20 years (1982-2001) and was broadcasted in all of the Americas through Chanel´s 13’s international channel.
Winner:   Best documentary series, Havana, Cuba: “Premio Coral a la mejor serie documental para televisión. IX Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoaméricano. La Habana, Cuba”.
Also winner of the first prize "Targa D'oro" (documentaries), in Sondrio, Italia (1988).

Shot in the U.S.A. and Chile. All shot on 16 mm and Super 16mm film.                                     

Ralf is a fully certified Steadicam Operator. After winning the Tim Sheffer Scholarship from the prestigious Film and Television Workshops in Rockport, Maine, which is given annually to only one applicant, Ralf  got his formal training from senior Steadicam instructor Paul Taylor, in October 2002.
Ralf owns and operates his own SK2 Steadicam gear which can hold cameras up to 19 pounds, be it film or video cameras.
After an incredibly busy three years as an AVID editor, Ralf is back shooting full time in the U.S. and overseas, and now has his Steadicam expertise and equipment  to offer, both for documentary film projects on video, or for a 16 mm format.
